Finally we get to explore Kyoto! Another ancient city and former capital of Japan. Famous for its beautiful traditions and incredibly rich history. This is our one day in Kyoto
After a girls’ drinks night out and a delicious traditional Japanese breakfast we left to explore Nara park and the World Heritage temples of Nara.
Still on the move we chose an old ninja village for our next stop. Looking for the famous Iga ninja clan we ventured through the Japanese countryside and the Mie prefecture towards the Iga Ueno city.
Osaka was our midway stop between Kyoto and Nara. It’s a busy vibrant city with so much to offer visitors. You can experience so much here and from here explore all of Japan due to its great connections.
On that same afternoon we took the train back to Kyoto and then to Inari to see the beautiful Torii gates along the path up to Mount Inari. This is us at Fushimi Inari Taisha
This time a longer weekend allowed us to finally visit Kyoto. This first half a day stop at Arashiyama excited our senses with some great nature views and delicious mochi.
Another weekend, another trip. Matsushima was recommended by all friends in Sendai, so we had to try it out. Started with the wrong train, ended up with several amazing experiences.
We finally got to Sapporo after a very long train trip and some sections of the train cut. Now we must find a place to sleep but the city seems to be totally booked for the festival.
On our way to Sapporo in a September long weekend we had to make an unexpected stop at Aomori. We tried to make the most of it and explored a little in the afternoon.
Traveling aside, life in Sendai was really mundane. On the non traveling days, there were rooms to be cleaned, dishes to be washed and food to be bought. This is a little post for some of these moments.
